With a lightweight aluminium rim teamed to reliable and smooth rolling quick-release, cup and cone hubs, these are great value wheels for winter riding and training. The rear rim has a 3mm offset profile which when teamed with the 24 j-bend spokes ensures the back wheel is responsive under power. The front wheel features 20 of the same spokes to keep weight low and compliance high; these wheels are great for long distance winter rides. The wide 17mm internal width of the rim is also great for larger volume 25-28c tyres.The hubs use Shimano's legendary angular contact bearings that are supremely reliable, easy to maintain and allow precision bearing adjustment to help ensure they run smoothly and drag-free. Labyrinth and contact sealing uses low-friction seals to effectively shut out water, mud and dirt as well as helping to keep the wheels feeling lively, with a fast, free-rolling nature. The freehub is compatible with 8, 9, 10 and 11-speed Shimano/Sram style cassettes, so you can be sure these will fit most road bikes. The wheels also come supplied with high-quality Shimano quick-release skewers that will provide years of smooth clamping, making sure your wheels stay tight in the frame and fork regardless of high hard you push them.
