The centreline tread features a firmer rubber compound that boasts faster rolling and increased durability, while the side knobs are composed of softer, slower-rebounding rubber that improves control and grip.Featuring a 120tpi casing and all-new SG2 puncture protection, which is a lightweight, ultra-thin nylon insert that provides bead-to-bead coverage and ensures no area is left unprotected. The nylon fibres of the bead-to-bead insert have a flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibres and therefore uses less rubber compared to traditional round fibres. Using less rubber minimizes weight and improves the liveliness of the tire by decreasing the overall tire casing thickness. SG2 was specifically designed to be a puncture protection layer, but also improves air retention in high-pressure tyres. WTB s protected drop bar tyres drastically improve both puncture protection and air retention while also increasing suppleness compared to a 60tpi casing.
