Cannondale 2021 Scalpel CRB SE1 Full Suspension XC Mountain Bike in Stealth Greyis hailed as the fastest, meanest most capable XC bike money can buy. The focus has been placed in reducing weight without sacrificing suspension, giving the new Scalpel a clear advantage with the most advanced suspension design ever created for an XC bike. It's 200 grams lighter than the previous version. The Scalpels geometry is improved by stretching out the reach, slackening the head tube by 2 degrees and making the seat angle steeper by a degree, overall a longer wheelbase and lower standover equate to a more aggressive geometry. What makes the Scalple stand out from the pack is the suspension. Where a lot of competitors reduce the weight of their bike by reducing or making less sophisticated suspension Cannondale has solved the issue by using the patented flex pivot chainstay. These durable carbon plates flex creating a virtual horst length pivot without the weight or flex of bolts and bearings. The results of this suspension can be felt in the pedalling efficiency and grip, keeping that back tyre close to the ground giving more traction allowing for marginal gains and less wasted energy the Scalpel always feels ready to attack. As well as the changes to geometry and innovative patented flex pivot the Cannondale 2021 Scalpel CRB SE1 has Maxxis Ardent Race, 29 x 2.35, EXO Protection, tubeless ready tyres. Shimano XT, 10-51, 12-speed cassette and Shimano XT hydraulic disc, 180/160mm XT rotors brakes. A Stash compartment is built into the down tube of the bike which includes a fabric 8:1 mini tool, Dynaplug tubeless puncture repair tool and space for a co2 canister meaning there's less for you to pocket.
