Bontrager rate the stiffness of the Velocis at 10 out of 14, compared to a full 14 out of 14 for the pro level XXX shoe. Having a small amount of flex in the sole makes the Velocis easier to live with. It also comes with plenty of ventilation to stop your feet boiling on long summer rides.
