As with the rest of the SLX groupset, the HG81 cassette represents exceptional value, combining high end features such as the lightweight and stiff alloy sprocket carrier used to mount the 3 largest sprockets, with the remaining 7 sprockets cut away and drilled to reduce weight without reducing rigidity with high levels of durability at a reasonable cost. Designed specifically for use with Shimano's Dyna-Sys 10 speed standard, the close ratio gearing increases efficiency by allowing the rider finer cadence control, whilst the computer designed Hyperglide sprockets run extremely quietly when paired with a HG-X chain and feature contoured shift gates for crisp, smooth shifting even under load.
