The Bontrager Vella Womens Road Cycling Shoes are Bontragers entry level road shoe. They are designed to be walkable so they are efficient on the bike but still be comfortable off the bike. This makes them ideal for touring and commuting as road cycling. The Vella is the womens equivalent of the mens Solstice shoe. The Vella shoes are compatible with MTB style 2-bolt cleats. This allows them to have more grip on the sole, making them easier to walk in. Although the soles have some flex in them for walking they are still pretty stiff so that you get efficient power transfer on the bike for better climbing and more speed on the flats. Whether you are looking for a first pair of road cycling shoes, or pair for commuting and touring use, the Bontrager Vella shoes are a really good choice.
