The Shimano SH51 Single Release SPD cleat is recommended for commuting and touring where getting a secure contact with the pedal is more important than easy release. As with other Shimano cleats it is released by twisting the heel outwards. The SH51 cleat works with all Shimano MTB SPD pedals except the PD-M858. It is known to work with the following Shimano pedal models: PD-M959 PD-M647 PD-M646 PD-M545 PD-M540 PD-M536 PD-M520 PD-M515 PD-M505 PD-M424 PD-M324 PD-M323 PD-A520 PD-A515
