The 2021 Trek Top Fuel 9.8 GX Full Suspension Mountain Bike in Matte Carbon is a full suspension carbon mountain bike for riders who don't settle. Not for parts nor for one style of riding. It combines a high-end parts package with a low-weight carbon frame for one unbelievably fun rig that's fast on flow and still fun to ride on techy singletrack. The Top Fuel 9.8 is built around a light and stiff full OCLV carbon frame and comes fitted with a 120 mm RockShox SID Select+ fork and 115 mm of rear travel from a RockShox SID Luxe Ultimate shock. The frame comes with Mino Link which lets you make small adjustments to the geometry with the turn of a single bolt, even during a ride. Smaller frames (S) have a top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This design makes for a lower standover height, which is good for shorter riders because it allows them to straddle their bike more easily. The larger frames (M and ML) have a straight top tube because taller riders with longer legs typically dont have the same issues with standover height. The Top Fuel 9.8 GX comes with the new SRAM GX Eagle 1 x 12 speed drive train with an extra-low 52-tooth climbing gear. This is a bike built for speed so it comes with wide carbon Bontrager Kovee Elite 30 wheels which are tubeless ready and have a 54-tooth Rapid Drive hub for fast engagement. A Bontrager Line Elite Dropper post and carbon handlebars round out the build. This bike is perfect for Mountain bikers who want a do-it-all full suspension bike that's efficient and fast, but doesn't shy away from some bigger stuff. It uses carbon on the frame and wheels but this is a build focussed on performance rather than all out bling.
